Sources report that quarterback Tim Tebow and two other players have been suffering from an unspecified respiratory illness and traveled separate from their teammate for precautionary reasons.

Despite the outbreak of the H1N1 virus on campus, University of Florida officials wouldn’t confirm or even intimate that Tebow, cornerback Joe Haden and safety Major Wright were suffering from the flu. University sources have officially termed it a respiratory illness while a source more familiar with the matter wasnt much more disclosing, calling it euphemistically a respiratory condition involving congestion. The source also indicated that Tebow was pretty weak on Friday morning but feeling better than he had earlier in the week.

Head coach Urban Meyer confirmed earlier in the week that the team had suffered approximately 35 cases of the flu in the past few weeks. This week, however, all of the players on the teams travel roster made the trip. Receivers coach Billy Gonzalez was also in the traveling party after missing a few days of practice earlier in the week. He returned to practice on Thursday, wearing gloves and a mask.

On offense, Northern Illinois rates 13th in the country in offense (38 ppg) while gaining 482 yards per contest (248 via the run, 234 throwing).

Chandler Harnish anchors the running game with 1,382 yards and 11 TDs on 7.5 yards per carry, while Jasmin Hopkins has 932 yards and 15 TDs on 5.2 yards per carry. Harnish completes 63 percent of his passes for 2,942 yards and 26 TDs with five interceptions, while the offensive line has allowed nine sacks. Nathan Palmer leads the receiving corps with 46 receptions for 683 yards and seven TDs.

The Huskies struggle defensively, ranking 90th in the nation in scoring defense (31 ppg) and giving up 418 yards per game (240 passing, 178 rushing) while recording 25 sacks and forcing 20 turnovers – with one returned for a TD (Nabal Jefferson, interception).
